When Lata Mangeshkar Lashed Out At Karan Johar, Kiara Advani For Using Her Song During Masturbation Scene In Lust Stories- Throwback
Lata Mangeshkar’s family was once very upset with Kiara Advani and Karan Johar for using her K3G song in the masturbation scene in Lust Stories!
Though India’s Nightingale Lata Mangeshkar is no more, her songs will continue to live in the hearts of fans. The melody queen passed away at the age of 92 in 2022, leaving everyone heartbroken and numb. Lata’s songs are to date loved by the masses and are even used in films. However, we remember once her family got upset with Karan Johar and Kiara Advani for using Lata’s song during the orgasm scene in the web show ‘Lust Stories.’
‘Lust Stories’ which was released on June 15, 2018, showed the late singer’ song ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ playing in the backdrop while Kiara was enacting an orgasm scene in the web series. This irked Lata’s family as they released a statement slamming KJo and Kiara asking why they needed to use a Bhajan-like song to show the heroine in an organic state. In the said scene, we saw Kiara's character's vibrator gets activated as the K3G song swells in the backdrop. Slamming Karan Johar, a family member of the singer told Bollywood Hungama, “We wonder why he needed to use a Bhajan-like song sung in the most revered voice of Asia to show his heroine in an orgasmic state. He could have used any other song.” The member added, “At her age we don’t want to expose her to this kind of ugly desecration of her song. Why did Karan Johar use Lata Didi’s immortal song in such an embarrassing situation? I still remember how ecstatic Karan was when Didi had recorded the song for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He said it was a dream come true. Why turn the dream song into a nightmare now?.”
‘Lust Stories’ consisted of four short film segments, directed by Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, and Karan Johar. The film has an ensemble cast including Radhika Apte, Bhumi Pednekar, Manisha Koirala, and Kiara Advani with Akash Thosar, Vicky Kaushal, Neha Dhupia, and others.
